Le sport durant le Raid

The will to go beyond one's limits is a key value of the Raid. Competitors will have to show spirit and pluck in order to face the sports challenge we offer them : 5 days in the mountainous landscape of Ardèche. For its 11th edition, the Raid has prepared new activities. Come and discover them in April!

The route will take you to Saint-Martin-d'Ardèche through a variety of multi-sports disciplines, centered on 5 main sporting activities:

* Running
* Moutain-biking
* Orienteering course
* Whitewater sports
* Climbing
* And more!

You will wake up at dawn, but do not worry: staff members will have prepared a substantial breakfast. The start will be either staggered or not. You will be followed by rescuers and doctors.

Back to base camp at the end of the day, you will have the opportunity to relax in the hands of physiotherapists. Your personal belongings will have been carried by the staff, so that you take the minimum with you for the race.

More than 200 km covered in 5 days.
More than 8000m difference in height (We are trying to reach the height of Mount Everest!).
200 participants.
70 staff members.

In order to participate in the Raid Total Centrale Paris, you need to prove that you have competed in at least one of the races below:
- running competition of at least 10 kms
- mountain biking competition of at least 50 kms
- cross country skiing competition of at least 20kms

In addition, staff members organise a preliminary one-day adventure race called the 'prologue' which will take place in the forest of Fontainebleau on February the 7th 2008 : this day will be an opportunity to discover the Raid's atmosphere, and participation to the Prologue counts as one of the latter proofs!
