Located in the central part of the Pyrénées, Ariège is a region that has kept its authenticity through the years. The 2010 edition of the Raid will take place in the middle of an extraordinary fauna and flora, and it’s not a chance.

Ariège offers majestic landscapes that will amaze you during the race. During the five-days-race, you will discover a small sample of these fantastic landscapes, but quite representative of the beauty of the region.

Furthermore, Ariège also offers an ideal setting for allowing competitors to run through their 9000m of difference in height. Thus, they will begin in a relatively flat around Lake Montbel to finish in more rugged trails, just waiting to be explored by the competitors in this new edition of the Raid.
If from the corner of your eye, you see a castle on your road, do not be surprised! Ariege is full of such Cathare Fort giving to the country a unique character, and whose relics still echo of events that have marked the history of France and Christianity. Be enchanted by the medieval atmosphere that prevails among the countless mountains of the department ... Ariège is given only to those who engage in it!
The Ariege is also a rich gastronomy and a preserved land, with the traditional foie gras, but also dishes with exotic names like azinat or mounjetado. It is still many artists who will not hesitate a second to introduce you to ancestral knowledge: shoemakers, stonemasons, blacksmiths...
So it’s in a colorful place that the Raid Total Centrale Paris in 2010 will lead you for an event combining sensations and adventure, in a spirit of self-transcendence that you’ll only find on the raid.
