Raid's ISO 9001 certification

Even though the preparation doesn’t last more than a year, the Raid is an event that continues.

Every year, the new organizing team brings its own personal touch to the event, maybe through small innovations or through a completely new concept. Here lies a challenge; to transfer the know-how of prior teams in order to secure the sustainability of the event and also to continuously improve its quality.

Given this crucial point, the Raid Centrale Paris has set up a real quality policy.

It consists in the continuous improvement of the internal organization on the one hand and control the transmission of know-how every year on the other. This policy has culminated in April 2009, the certification according to ISO 9001.

Our commitments: the policies of Raid Centrale Paris

In terms of quality of the event, we are commited to :

• Offer our partner companies and students from the most selective schools a great forum for exchange in an informal setting. This also gives the companies an opportunity to unite their colleagues around the values shared with the Raid.
• Guarantee the competitors :
  
  • a highly challenging sports event,
  • a competition where the risks are minimized by working closely with our security providers,
  • a whole logistical support to competitors throughout the event,
  • a Raid where the beauty of the the course and the region is emphasized and preserved.
• Contribute to the promotion of Ecole Centrale Paris and of our partners.
• Involve local stakeholders in the creation of the edition.
• Ensure the sustainability of the organization while maintaining continuous improvement despite the change of the organizing team from one year to another.

Our quality policy

To better meet the expectations of our stakeholders, we have not only created a quality process, but also a system to evaluate its efficiency.

To do this, we have defined every process that makes up the Raid and assigned it a score to measure its performance. In this manner we can monitor the event and make improvements where needed.

This cycle of continuous improvement isn’t possible without the work of previous years being evaluated and preserved.

The staff of the organizing team is comprised of first-year students under the responsibility of second-year students who participated the previous year. Throughout the year, the new staff is trained in by their older peers in the same way they were. At the end of the year a new team is chosen among the first-years to continue this training to the following edition. In this way, the know-how and the quality processes of the Raid are preserved in time and it gives each year a good foundation to build its new edition upon.

To further preserve and capitalize on experience we have created an information system that not only helps to preserve the work and the experience, but also makes the internal communication run more smoothly.

Our certification is a guarantee of seriousness and professionalism to Ecole Centrale Paris and all of our partners and providers.
