Raid's ISO 14001 certification

The environment is at the heart of the Raid Centrale Paris: we are very much aware that our passage through beautiful environments can leave traces, and we have chosen to do all that we can to minimize our impact.

It is why we have implemented a environmental management system, which allows us to always better ourselves and be certified to ISO 14001 since 2005, it is one of our main priorities.

Our commitments: the policies of Raid Centrale Paris

The main areas where we focus our environmental system on are :

• To respect present and future legislation and to implement a regulatory monitoring procedure.
• Make our environmenatal management clearly available to all our stakeholders and authorities.
• To work with the local actors to minimize the impact of the competitors and the organizing team throughout the event.
• To put focus on significant environmental aspects and risks to protect the surroundings of the Raid throughout the year. This includes:
  • Rational of use energy;
  • Waste management;
  • Limit the use of paper.

  In order to achieve the evaluation of our environmental impact, an assessment of our carbon footprint will be realized.

• Prioritize environmental communication and attach the whole of its stakeholders to its Environmental Policy, specially:
  • increase awareness of environmental protection issues;
  • train the organization team on its Environmental Management System;
  • involve its partners in a environmental approach.
    
    

The environmental policy

We have focused our environmental work on the following three areas, as they represent the major points in our Carbon footprint:

Waste management

Waste separation is one of the most basic and elementary thing we can do to save the environment. And the possibilities to do this are already in place in the host region.

Throughout the year the organizing team as well as the competitors will be trained to perform and respect waste separation, as part of our environmental commitment.

Rational use of energy

In all of our travels, the fuel consumption is monitored and minimized. The use of public transport is always the first choice in order to limit our fuel consumption and also our green house gas emissions.

Limit the use of paper

Througout the year, members of the staff are prompted to limit their use of paper in favor of computer media. This mindset is also encouraged to our partners.

The ISO 14001 certification ensures the effectiveness and sustainability of our commitments undertaken as part of an environmental management system integrated with the Raid, which influences all our decisions. It is a guarantee of seriousness for our partners and local communities.
